Permission was given for Nellie French (IRE) and Pacopash (GB) to go early to post and be mounted in the chute.
Approximately half a furlong after the start, the rider of Nellie French (IRE), placed fourth, had to take a precautionary check when short of room between Arzaak (IRE), unplaced, which had edged slightly right-handed, and De Rocker (GB), unplaced, which had lugged left-handed, but after viewing a recording of the incident it was found that no riding offence was involved.
An enquiry was held to consider interference approaching the 2 furlong marker involving De Rocker (GB), unplaced, ridden by Luke Morris; Arzaak (IRE), unplaced, ridden by Richard Kingscote; and Freedom Flyer (IRE), placed second, ridden by James Sullivan.
The interference was found to be accidental in that a weakening De Rocker (GB) had lugged right-handed despite its rider’s best efforts, at the same time as Arzaak (IRE) had edged slightly left-handed, causing Freedom Flyer (IRE) to be checked in its run.
Following the race, Darragh Keenan reported that The Tron (GB), placed third, jumped awkwardly from the stalls and hung right-handed in the home straight and James Sullivan reported that Freedom Flyer (IRE), placed second, was denied a clear run for some distance from 2 furlongs out to the final furlong marker.
