The rider, Charlie Deutsch was interviewed and recordings of the incident were viewed.
The rider explained that he had intended to follow Dark Heather (IRE) in pulling up on the approach to the flight, but the mare had taken a hold despite his efforts to pull her up, resulting in Folly Hill (GB) stepping at the obstacle and falling.
His explanation was accepted.
Following the race, Nico de Boinville reported that Marmalaid (GB), unplaced, jumped left-handed in the early stages and Miss Thomasina Eyston reported that Dark Heather (IRE) ran too freely and weakened quickly approaching the third-last hurdle and she therefore pulled the filly up on the approach to the hurdle.
