Shane Kelly was unseated by Fenlander (GB) in the parade ring.
Having been checked by the Doctor, he was deemed fit to race.
Leaving the stalls, Classy Boy (IRE), placed third, jumped left-handed at the same time as Cuban Fiesta (GB), placed fourth, jumped right-handed, resulting in both runners making contact with Khamsin (USA), unplaced, which unbalanced all three runners, but after viewing a recording of the incident, it was found that no riding offence was involved and that it had not improved the placing of either Classy Boy (IRE) or Cuban Fiesta (GB).
Shortly after leaving the stalls, Fenlander (GB), unplaced, lugged quickly right-handed briefly impeding Mr Wonderful (GB), unplaced, before crowding Cuban Fiesta (GB), placed fourth, which in turn tightened up Khamsin (USA), unplaced, for racing room, but after viewing a recording of the incident, it was found that no riding offence was involved.
An enquiry was held to consider interference approaching the final furlong, involving Cuban Fiesta (GB), placed fourth, ridden by Billy Loughnane; Mr Wonderful (GB), unplaced, ridden by Pat Dobbs; and Whatwouldiknow (IRE), unplaced, ridden by Rowan Scott.
Loughnane was suspended for 4 days for careless riding after continuing to use his whip in the right hand on his mount, which had already started drifting left-handed off a true line after his first hit, causing Mr Wonderful (GB) to be significantly checked in its run before also making contact with Whatwouldiknow (IRE) which was hampered.
An enquiry was held to consider interference approaching the final ½ furlong, involving Classy Boy (IRE), placed third, ridden by Sam James; Fenlander (GB), unplaced, ridden by Shane Kelly; Khamsin (USA), unplaced, ridden by Jamie Spencer; and The Bitter Moose (IRE), unplaced, ridden by Rossa Ryan.
The interference was found to be accidental as Fenlander (GB), which had been hanging right- handed throughout most of the race, shifted quickly left-handed, away from the whip, prompting Kelly to pull his whip through to his left hand in order to correct the gelding, whereupon it then lugged quickly right- handed, making contact with Classy Boy (IRE), which was tightened for room and became unbalanced bumping with The Bitter Moose (IRE), which was significantly hampered and in turn heavily bumped Khamsin (USA)'s hindquarters causing that colt to be severely hampered.
Following the race, Billy Loughnane reported that Cuban Fiesta (GB), placed fourth, ran green under pressure.
Jamie Spencer reported that Khamsin (USA), unplaced, was severely hampered approaching the final ½ furlong.
Paul Mulrennan reported that Project Geofin (GB), unplaced, lugged left-handed.
Pat Dobbs reported that Mr Wonderful (GB), unplaced, suffered interference approaching the final furlong.
