Omas Glen, previously winner of a point-to-point, bumper, hurdle and a chase completed the nap hand here on the Flat with the emphasis on stamina.
Prince Erik (1/1-5/4) looked set to score when heading front-runner Kerryhead Windfarm over a furlong out but he was still vulnerable to another challenger, and Fran Berry produced the 7yo mare with a well-time run down the centre of the track to win under hand-riding. The combination of this longer trip and testing ground probably proved the undoing of the favourite.
Kerryhead Windfarm set a reasonable pace considering the ground and had the vast majority of his 13 rivals in trouble before the straight. He kept on one paced when headed as the first three came clear of the remainder.
Storm Plan attracted support but could never get in a blow, while Giant Eagle was in touch entering the straight but soon had no more to give.
