Shakervilz stepped up to three miles here three weeks after he won his maiden hurdle at Leopardstown over two and a half and Willie Mullins later said he was confident that the step up in trip would bring out the best in him.

A three-mile novice contest at Punchestown is likely to be his next outing and the trainer also said that it was over hurdles he may stay next season rather than go over fences.

Shakervilz tracked the leaders until Ruby Walsh sent his charge upsides Back To Bid at four out and went to the front on the approach to three out. From there his rivals were always fighting a losing battle.

Fond Of A Drop looked to have more in the tank than he actually did and he eventually had to settle for third spot with Hi Cloy staying on to finish five lengths second.

Hi Cloy also looked a major player on the turn in but the eventual winner had too much toe for his two closest rivals and went on to settle the issue with plenty in hand.

Back To Bid just wasn't fluent enough to win here and having jumped out in front he died away tamely at the finish. Another to stop in his tracks rapidly was the prominent Sonnyanjoe who was sent off favourite and in finishing fourth he done so after losing his place and then passing tired horses at a moderate pace.
