CANDY GIRL made her ground from the rear of the field approaching the end of the back straight but she was under pressure before the turn-in. Those that backed her from at least 9/2 in the morning into a returned 3/1 were expecting her to find plenty off the bridle though and this she duly did.

A fall at Thurles on her chase debut wouldn?t have helped her confidence but it has been all onwards and upwards since she was beaten as an even money favourite next time. The daughter of Un Desperado won a Grade three over two and three quarter miles at this course (she also won a hurdle here) in the middle of March and then just found the vastly experienced Carrigeen Kalmia too strong at the Fairyhouse Easter Festival. There aren?t many better mares in the country.

DRUNKEN DISORDERLY jumped soundly in the main from the front to put a couple of completions back to back. He went to his right four out when attempting to up the tempo and he just stays going at the one pace.

OSCAR HONEY, dropping in class, couldn?t quicken having found himself in front in the straight. He wasn?t disgraced but this is as good as he is. CALLHERWHATULIKE (5/1 in the morning and 4/1 into 11/4 favourite) failed to live up to expectations and she is a little expensive to follow. FREDS BENEFIT probably didn?t stay and WHERESBEN (post race normal) has had plenty on his plate in recent times and could be feeling it. All his best form is on heavy. AKA JAKE went lame and pulled up.
