Permission was given for FORD MADDOX BROWN to be mounted on the chute and for Take A Stand (IRE) to wear a red hood to post.
An enquiry was held to consider the placings in this race after interference inside the final furlong when G’DAAY, placed second, ridden by Rhys Clutterbuck, interfered with FORD MADDOX BROWN, placed third, ridden by Marco Ghiani, who in turn interfered with Way To Win (IRE), placed sixth, ridden by Neil Callan.
The Stewards considered that the interference had not improved G’DAAY’s placing as at the time of the interference G’DAAY had already headed FORD MADDOX BROWN and the incident had occurred shortly before the finish line with a neck between them at the line.
Clutterbuck was suspended for 3 days for careless riding as he had allowed his mount to drift left-handed without sufficient correction carrying FORD MADDOX BROWN off its intended line resulting in Callan having to take a check off the heels of FORD MADDOX BROWN.
Following the race, Rossa Ryan reported that Take A Stand (IRE), placed fifth, hung left-handed and the Veterinary Officer reported that Global Warning (GB), unplaced, had lost its left fore shoe.
