He was behind the bridle all the way and I was always going to win but he was just very lazy and didn’t switch on into race mode. I think he’ll improve a lot mentally rather than fitness wise and I’d imagine three miles might be more his thing. W P Mullins, trainer
P. Hanlon, rider of Buddy's Choice, trained by John Joseph Hanlon, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount ran green throughout
The Raceday Stewards enquired into possible interference in the closing stages involving Dysart Dazzler, ridden by Mr P.W. Mullins, placed first, and Serious Chat, ridden by Mr J.L. Gleeson, placed second, where it appeared interference occurred. Evidence was heard from the riders concerned. Mr. J.L. Gleeson stated that he received a couple of bumps costing him momentum. Mr. P.W. Mullins stated that his mount was rolling inwards after receiving a bump and also stated that he corrected his mount any time he felt him coming off his line Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Raceday Stewards were of the opinion that while Dysart Dazzler had caused interference to Serious Chat he did not improve his finishing position as a result of this interference so they made no alteration to the Judge’s placings, and took no further action
