The Stewards interviewed Mr B.J. White, rider of Mount Marcus Baker, concerning his use of the whip in the latter stages of this race. Evidence was heard from the rider concerned. Having viewed a recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Stewards were of the opinion that the rider was in breach of Regulation 10.3(b), in that he had continued to use his whip after his chance of winning or being placed had clearly gone. Having considered his inexperience, the Stewards cautioned him and ordered that he attend R.A.C.E for one days tuition on the correct use of the whip . Ms N. Carberry, rider of Une Lavandiere (FR) trained by Noel Meade, reported to the Clerk of Scales that her mount ran flat.
