When he quickened up it looked like he passed half the field in half a furlong and then he looked like he idled when he got there. He's obviously got plenty of talent. Looking at that you'd have to hope he's an Ascot two-year-old. On paper it looked like a good race, I know Dad liked his (Amalfi Coast) and Joseph liked his (fourth home Andreas Vesalius). There were plenty of other nice pedigrees in there. I suppose you'd have to look towards the Coventry. He was very green, we'll see how he comes out of it then have a look and see what suits him. I don't think it would be any harm if there was another race before hand. Donnacha Aidan O'Brien, trainer
R.L. Moore, rider of Amalfi Coast trained by A.P.O'Brien, reported to the Clerk of Scales that his mount did not get a clear run
The Stewards enquired into an incident approximately two furlongs from home involving Amalfi Coast, ridden by R.L. Moore, placed fifth, Rhythm Of Zain, ridden by M.A. Gallagher, unplaced and Butterfly Island, ridden by C.T. Keane, placed third, where it appeared that some horses got tight for room. Evidence was heard from the riders concerned. R. L. Moore stated that he got no run and with the front horses coming back, caused him to run up on heels. M. A. Gallagher, stated that he was in a prominent positon early on and when his mount started to weaken, his horse rolled around under pressure. C. T. Keane stated that he followed the leaders on the inside and when the front horses were coming back in front of him, it caused his horse to get tight for room and slightly unbalanced. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Stewards were of the opinion that any interference that occurred was accidental in nature and they took no further action.
