Packettotherafters (IRE), trained by Gary Hanmer, had arrived in the Parade Ring late and without its declared tongue strap, which was then located and fitted on the gelding before going to the start, causing the race to be late off.
After being interviewed, Hanmer was fined £140.
The performance of Midnight Mustang (GB), which was pulled up, was considered.
Andrew Martin’s explanation that the gelding was unsuited by being ridden more patiently on this occasion in an attempt to get the trip, was noted.
Martin added that, in his opinion, Midnight Mustang (GB) may also appreciate an easier surface.
The Veterinary Officer reported that a post-race examination of the gelding, during routine testing, failed to reveal any abnormalities.
The performance of Only Gorgeous, which was pulled up, was considered.
Lucy Gardner reported that she felt that the gelding had moved poorly prior to pulling up and Susan Gardner reported that, in her opinion, Only Gorgeous would be better suited by an easier surface.
Their explanations were noted and the Veterinary Officer reported that a post-race examination of the gelding failed to reveal any abnormalities.
Following the race, Bryan Carver reported that Packettotherafters (IRE), which was pulled up, was never travelling.
