The Irish Horseracing Regulatory Board Veterinary Officer examined Bal Kauto (FR), trained by Declan Queally, at the request of the Raceday Stewards and reported the animal to be post race normal. Samples were taken for analysis

Fitzgerald, rider of Bal Kauto (FR), trained by Declan Queally, reported to the Stewards' Secretaries that his mount made a noise early in this race, was held onto at this point, got underneath his hurdles and was ridden to get home thereafter. Fitzgerald concerning his failure to make what they felt was a very substantial report which had affected the performance of the race favourite without being asked to do so. S.Fitzgerald accepted that the report could have been made earlier and stated that he had simply forgot to make the report as required under the provisions of Rule 213. Having considered the matter, the Raceday Stewards were satisfied that S. Fitzgerald was in breach of Rule 213(ii) and having considered his record in this regard they suspended him for one raceday
The Raceday Stewards requested a report from James M. Barcoe, trainer of Early Arrival, placed first as compared with its recent form. Miss E. Hennessy, Authorised Representative, for James. M. Barcoe stated that a combination of a drop in grade and the application of a tongue tie on this occasion had helped to bring about the apparent improvement in form. Having considered the evidence, the Raceday Stewards noted the content of the report
