Permission was given for Clipsham Gold (IRE) to wear a red hood in the preliminaries.
An enquiry was held to consider interference in the final half furlong when Clipsham Gold (IRE), placed second, ridden by Ryan Sexton, interfered with the winner The Grey Wolf (IRE), ridden by David Allan, and Shabs (GB), placed fourth, ridden by Paul Mulrennan.
Sexton was cautioned for careless riding as he had allowed his mount to drift right without sufficient correction, giving The Grey Wolf (IRE) a slight bump and causing the rider of Shabs (GB) to take a precautionary check.
The apparent improvement in form of the winner The Grey Wolf (IRE) which had never previously been placed, was considered.
The representative of Tim Easterby explained that the gelding may have benefitted from the first-time application of blinkers on this occasion.
Their explanation was noted, and The Grey Wolf (IRE) was routine tested.
Following the race, Ben Robinson reported that Make A Prophet (IRE), placed fifth, hung both ways.
James Sullivan reported that Siraju (GB), unplaced, was denied a clear run 2 furlongs out.
