See also » The-Busy-Fool-provides-Rothwell-and-Power-Roche-with-big-win He's a lovely big horse. They are a great crowd of guys to train for and they've been hugely lucky, we've had a lot of winners. They've been very patient with this horse, he was a big weak horse. You can see he's a big backward fella. I didn't want to go over fences until next season so we said we'd keep him for a few hurdles this year. He won in Tipperary last season over two and I felt the step up would suit. Obviously Tiernan's claim got rid of his winner's penalty. The form of the race in Tipperary worked out well, the horse that was second to him was second in Punchestown at the Festival. I think Tiernan will be very important to me this year for some of those handicaps. It was great to have him on board and great that he rode a good winner. He got a very easy lead, he came up the home straight the first time with his ears pricked going a nice steady gallop. With a 7lb claimer off 10st 4lb they gave him, a galloping horse, a very easy lead. I was going to look at the two-mile handicap in Fairyhouse but we'd want a lot of rain for that. We'll creep away. He can come back a bit in trip with an ease in the ground. P J Rothwell, trainer
The Raceday Stewards reviewed an incident past the stands with a circuit to go involving Gaoth Chuil, ridden by K.M. Donoghue, Win Some Lose Some, ridden by M.P. Walsh, and Natural Look, ridden by J. Coen, where it appeared horses got tight for room on the bend. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the matter, the Raceday Stewards were satisfied that no further action was warranted
C.M. Quirke, rider of Sir Allen (GB), trained by Andrew Slattery, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount was badly hampered turning into the finishing straight
The Raceday Stewards enquired into an incident from the approach to the hurdle to the point of the bend involving Happy Jacky, ridden by P.T. Smithers, Sir Allen (GB), ridden by C.M. Quirke, First Dare, ridden by P. Hanlon, and Missus Beeton, ridden by C.M Hogan where it appeared Sir Allen (GB) ran short of room on the inner
Evidence was heard from the riders concerned. P.T. Smithers stated that his horse jinked left and the rail came out to meet him. The horses on his outer come in to him. Cian Quirke stated that he was down the inside, he let a shout and got squeezed and pushed in. P. Hanlon stated that he kept a straight line, he was aware of the horse on his inner but got bumped from the right. C.M. Hogan stated that as they rounded the bend the horse in front comes left and he went for a gap that closed at which point his own horse leaned left. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Raceday Stewards took no further action other than to advise all the riders to ride with more awareness in future
The Raceday Stewards enquired into an incident on the turn into the straight involving Win Some Lose Some, ridden by M.P. Walsh, and Natural Look, ridden by J. Coen where it appeared Natural Look ran short of room on the inner. Evidence was heard from the riders concerned. M.P. Walsh stated that he switched into a gap where there was room for two horses. He got no shout from his inner and his horse leaned in. J. Coen stated that he hadn't the horse to maintain his position and his mount's race was run. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Raceday Stewards did not apportion blame to any rider and took no further action.
