I thought she should nearly have won the last day and in another stride she had it. She has been a very slow learner and I'm glad we came today because I was nearly calling a halt as I thought the ground had gone and Ronan (Whelan) said she didn't like it at all. She is very honest but has just been very slow to learn and we mightn't run her again this year as she didn't really handle that ground. I think next year she'll be a Stakes filly; she needs better ground. P J Prendergast, trainer

The Stewards enquired into an incident shortly after the opening of the stalls involving Machiavelli (GB), ridden by D.P. Linehan, placed sixth and Bronze Age, ridden by S. Foley, placed second, where it appeared that Bronze age moved across before reaching the marker poles causing Machiavelli to check. Evidence was heard from the riders concerned. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Stewards found S. Foley to be in breach of Rule 211, in that he moved across before reaching the marker poles, and Rule 214 in that he had ridden carelessly. Having considered his previous records in both regards, the Stewards suspended S. Foley for 1 raceday in relation to Rule 214 and fined him ?100 in relation to Rule 211.
