Permission was given for Wind Place And Sho (GB) to be mounted on the track and go early to post and for Maid In Manhattan (IRE) to go early to post.

An enquiry was held to consider the placings in this race after interference on the run to the line, when the winner Goscote (GB), ridden by David Probert, interfered with Maid In Manhattan (IRE), placed second, ridden by Harrison Shaw.
Having heard their evidence, the Stewards considered that the interference had not improved Goscote (GB)’s placing as although Maid In Manhattan (IRE), was inconvenienced when tightened for room in the concluding stages, Shaw never had to stop riding his mount and Goscote (GB) had come from behind and was always holding Maid In Manhattan (IRE) late on to win by a neck.
Probert was cautioned for careless riding as he had allowed his mount to edge left-handed without timely correction, thereby causing interference to Maid In Manhattan (IRE).
Following the race, Clifford Lee reported that Miss Ranger (IRE), which finished last of the twelve runners, ran too freely and had no more to give when under pressure.
The Veterinary Officer reported that Bazooka (IRE), placed fifth, lost its left hind shoe.
