Owing to the low elevation of the sun, the Stewards granted permission for fence #1 (last fence) to be omitted from this race K.C. Sexton, rider of Ardaghs Choice, trained by E.Sheehy, reported to the Stewards' Secretaries that his mount ducked for the parade ring entrance path and lost considerable ground during the final circuit of this race.
