The winner, Ghepardo (GB), appeared to show improved form compared with its previous run at Brighton on 28 April 2021 where the mare finished last of the eight finishers, beaten by 15½ lengths on Good to Firm ground.
Patrick Chamings’ explanation that Ghepardo (GB) appeared to be better suited by the slightly easier ground, which was officially described as Good, Good to Firm in places on this occasion, as well as perhaps benefitting from a change in training regime, was noted.
The mare was routine tested.
Following the race, Georgia Dobie, the rider of Blue Venture (GB), unplaced, and Thore Hammer Hansen, the rider of Aquadabra (IRE), placed third, both reported that their mounts hung left-handed throughout.
The Veterinary Officer reported that Captain Ryan (GB), unplaced, lost its right-fore shoe.
