The winner, Eritage (FR), appeared to show improved form compared with its previous run at Kelso on 6 March 2021 where the gelding finished third of the three finishers, beaten by 36¼ lengths over 2 miles 1 furlong on Good to Soft ground.
Paul Nicholls’ representative’s explanation that Eritage (FR) benefited from the step up in trip to 2 miles 5 furlongs combined with the better ground, which was officially described as Good, Good to Soft in places on this occasion, was noted.
Eritage (FR) was routine tested.
Following the race, the Veterinary Officer reported that The Russian Doyen (IRE), placed fifth, lost its left-fore shoe.
