Approaching the winning post with a circuit to run, Desert Cat (GB), unplaced, edged slightly left-handed, causing the rider of a free running Copake (IRE), placed seventh, to check off heels, but after viewing a recording of the incident, it was found that no riding offence was involved.
An enquiry was held to consider interference approaching the final furlong involving Aviary (GB), unplaced, ridden by Ross Coakley, Owens Lad (GB), placed sixth, ridden by Jane Elliott, Headora (GB), placed second, ridden by Richard Kingscote and Ricksen (GB), placed third, ridden by David Probert.
Elliott was suspended for 4 days for careless riding as she was slow to correct her mount from drifting right-handed when insufficiently clear of Ricksen (GB), resulting in Probert taking evasive action, which caused Coakley to take a check on Aviary (GB), who in doing so caught the quarters of Headora (GB).
An enquiry was held to consider the placings following an objection from Richard Kingscote, the rider of Headora (GB), placed second, to the winner, Light Up Our Stars (IRE), ridden by Luke Morris, on the grounds that by edging out and hampering Headora (GB) 3½ furlongs out, his mount had lost sufficient ground and momentum for it to have cost him more than the ½ length margin he was beaten.
The Stewards considered that the interference had not improved Light Up Our Stars (IRE)’s placing as the interference had occurred a considerable distance from the finish and Headora (GB) was always being held on the run to the line before beaten by ½ a length.
Morris was suspended for 2 days for careless riding as he angled his mount right-handed off the rail, when insufficiently clear of Headora (GB), causing Kingscote to be caught on heels.
Following the race, Daniel Muscutt reported that Parikarma (IRE), unplaced, hung left-handed in the home straight.
