Permission was given for Min Till (GB) to wear a red hood to post and for both Independent Beauty (GB) and Captain Sedgwick (IRE) to go to post early.
Leaving the stalls, Min Till (GB), unplaced, jumped left-handed, bumping Kingwell (GB), placed third, but after viewing a recording of the incident it was found that no riding offence was involved.
An enquiry was held to consider two incidents of interference from approaching the 3 furlong marker involving City Escape (IRE), placed fifth, ridden by Billy Loughnane; Hot Day (GB), unplaced, ridden by Georgia Dobie; and Western Melody (IRE), unplaced, ridden by Aiden Brookes.
Being a 7lb claiming apprentice, Loughnane was offered the opportunity to be accompanied but declined.
In the first incident approaching the 3 furlong marker, the interference was found to be accidental and caused by a free- running City Escape (IRE) improving its position between Western Melody (IRE) and Hot Day (GB), before Hot Day (GB) then lugged left-handed despite its riders best efforts to correct the gelding, badly buffeting City Escape (IRE) for some distance which in turn hampered Western Melody (IRE).
In the second incident inside the 3 furlong marker, Loughnane was cautioned for careless riding as he had angled left-handed towards the rail when insufficiently clear of Western Melody (IRE), causing Brookes to take a slight check.
Following the race, Aidan Keeley reported that Captain Sedgwick (IRE), unplaced, ran too free.
