Permission was given for Union Island (IRE) and Soames Forsyte (GB) to go early to post and for Heretic (IRE) to go early and wear a red hood to post.
Union Island (IRE) wore ear plugs which were removed at the start.
An enquiry was held to consider the placings in this race after interference inside the final furlong involving, the winner, Profitman (GB), ridden by Hector Crouch; Union Island (IRE), placed second, ridden by Sean Dylan Bowen; Soames Forsyte (GB), placed third, ridden by Dylan Hogan and City Cyclone (GB), placed fourth, ridden by William Carson.
The Stewards considered that the interference had improved the placing of Profitman (GB) as it shifted quickly right handed, bumping Union Island (IRE) which was briefly unbalanced between horses.
Taking into account the diminishing nose margin the Stewards were satisfied that had this incident not occurred, Union Island (IRE) would have finished in front of Profitman (GB) and the placings were revised accordingly as follows.
First, Union Island (IRE); Second, Profitman (GB); Third, Soames Forsyte (GB); Fourth, City Cyclone (GB).
The interference was found to be accidental and had been caused by Profitman (GB) lugging quickly right-handed before being corrected, thereby bumping Union Island which in turn interfered with City Cyclone (GB) which then gave a light brush to Soames Forsyte (GB).
Following the race, Elle-May Croot reported that Mr Jetman (IRE), unplaced, ran too free.
