Permission was given for Book Of Life (GB) to wear a red hood to post and for Jumeira Vision (IRE) to be mounted in the chute and go early to post.
An enquiry was held to consider interference approaching the final furlong, involving Book Of Life (GB), placed second, ridden by Cieren Fallon, City Cyclone (GB), unplaced, ridden by William Carson, Under Fox (IRE), placed third, ridden by Luke Morris and WE’RENOTREALLYHERE, unplaced, ridden by Rhys Clutterbuck.
Fallon was suspended for 2 days for careless riding as he shifted his mount right-handed, making light contact with Under Fox (IRE), which was moved off its intended line and into the path of City Cyclone (GB), which was impeded and shifted off its intended line, causing WE’RENOTREALLYHERE to be hampered.
The winner, Swatch (IRE), appeared to show improved form compared with its previous run at Newmarket on 01 November 2024 where the gelding finished thirteenth of fourteen, beaten by 11 ¾ lengths.
It was noted that the representative of Gary and Josh Moore could offer no explanation for the gelding’s improved form, other than Swatch (IRE) may have appreciated the return to an all-weather surface on this occasion.
Swatch was routine tested.
Following the race, George Buckell reported that Havana Touch (GB), unplaced, jumped awkwardly from the stalls and Rhys Clutterbuck reported that WE’RENOTREALLYHERE, unplaced, hung left-handed.
