I bought him over in Newmarket and he came down to the yard and took the horse off me. He has a lot of horses in training but it's his first winner in Ireland today. He had a winner a couple of weeks ago with Dan Skelton. He'll tip away during the summer and he has a nice mark over hurdles. He'll mix it after a while. He's been plenty busy but he goes on nice ground. He's a fine looking horse and he's actually a great jumper. The Stewards requested a report from Peter Fahey, trainer as to the apparent improvement in form of Shamad, placed first, as compared with its most recent run. The trainer reported that this horse's most recent run possibly came two quick after its previous run. He also felt that smaller fields seem to suit the horse compared to large field handicaps. Having considered the report the Stewards noted the explanation offered
The Stewards interviewed B.M. Coen, rider of Shamad, concerning his use of the whip in the latter stages of this race. Evidence was heard from the rider concerned. Having viewed a recording of the race and considered the evidence the Stewards found the rider in breach of Reg.10.3.(g) (frequency) and having taken his record into account suspended him for 2 race days
