The Stewards reviewed an incident at approximately the 2 furlong marker involving Aspen Grove, ridden by M.A
Enright, and Shelton, ridden by W.J. Lee where it appeared Shelton made a manoeuvre to the left which appeared to carry Aspen Grove of its racing line. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the matter, the Stewards were satisfied that no further action was warranted
The Stewards requested a report from J.A. Stack, trainer as to the apparent improvement in form of Aspen Grove, placed first, as compared with its most recent in the Curragh on the 24th of June. J.A. Stack stated that his charge was unsuited by the ground conditions on its previous run and relished the more favourable ground today. Having considered the evidence the Stewards noted the content of the report.
