An enquiry was held to consider the placings in this race after interference on the run to the line when the winner, Search For Light (IRE), ridden by Pat Cosgrave, interfered with Thanks Be (GB), placed second, ridden by Stevie Donohoe.
The Stewards considered that the interference had not improved the placing of Search For Light (IRE) as despite being taken off its intended line after receiving a slight bump, Thanks Be (GB) lost no momentum to be beaten a short head.
Cosgrave was cautioned for careless riding as he had allowed his mount to drift left giving a slight bump to Thanks Be (GB).
The performance of Robotique Danseur (FR) which finished unplaced, was considered.
The representative of K R Burke could offer no explanation for the filly’s performance, other than it may have been unsuited by the Soft going, having only ever raced on an all-weather surface previously.
