Following a request from broadcasters, the Raceday Stewards granted permission for a one minute delay to this race K. Callaghan, rider of Up She Flew, trained by Liam P Cusack, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount never travelled
G.B. Noonan, rider of Eastern Tornado, trained by Michael P. Hourigan, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount planted at the start and his chance was gone
The Raceday Stewards interviewed K. Callaghan, rider of Up She Flew, concerning his use of the whip in this race
Evidence was heard from the rider concerned who accepted that he was in breach of Regulation 10 and apologised for his actions. Having viewed a recording of the race and considered the evidence the Raceday Stewards were satisfied that K. Callaghan was in breach of Regulation 10.3(g) (frequency) and having taken his previous record into account they suspended K. Callaghan for six racedays
The Raceday Stewards requested a report from D.E.Fitzgerald, trainer as to the apparent improvement in form of General Clermont (FR), placed first, as compared with its recent form. D. E. Fitzgerald stated that General Clermont (FR) ran too free on his previous run in Wexford and he felt that today his charge was nice and settled and got into a good rhythm. Having considered the evidence the Raceday Stewards noted the content of the report.
