The Raceday Stewards enquired into an incident in the closing stages involving Jhentong Enki (FR), ridden by S.W. Flanagan, placed fifth, Mossy Fen Park, ridden by Rachael Blackmore, placed second, and Predators Gold (FR), ridden by P. Townend, placed first, where it appeared Mossy Fen Park ran short of room. Evidence was heard from the riders concerned. S. W. Flanagan stated that he leaned left off the bend and then moved slightly left as he was aware of the horse down his inner. Rachael Blackmore stated that she was squeezed up for half a stride
P. Townend stated that he quickened up well down the outside and maintained his line. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Raceday Stewards were satisfied that as the incident was caused by the movement of both horses in front, they gave P. Townend the benefit of the doubt on this occasion and took no further action, other than to advise him to ride with more caution in the future.
