The Raceday Stewards interviewed J.A. Heffernan, rider of Lady Lunette, concerning his use of the whip in the closing stages of this race. Evidence was heard from the rider concerned who accepted he was in breach of the whip Regulation and apologised for his actions. Having viewed a recording of the race and considered the evidence the Raceday Stewards was satisfied that J.A. Heffernan was in breach of R10.3g by using his whip with excessive frequecy and having considered his record in this regard, they suspended him for 5 racedays

D.P. McDonogh, rider of Operatic Artist, trained by Joseph Patrick O'Brien, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount didn't get a clear run in the straight

The Raceday Stewards enquired into the circumstances surrounding the late arrival of W.J. Lee, the declared rider of Silken Ladder, necessitating a change of rider to B.M. Coen which was allowed by the Raceday Stewards. W.J

Lee stated that he was riding in Ayr earlier in the day and made it back to Prestwick airport in plenty time however the plane was delayed 15 minutes prior to take off. Furthermore the plane had to circle in Shannon before landing which delayed him a further 15 minutes which resulted in him not making his appointment on Silken Ladder

Having considered the evidence, the Raceday Stewards accepted W.J. Lee's explanation.
