The Stewards interviewed W.J. Lee, rider of Corps Des Pages, concerning his use of the whip in the latter stages of this race. Evidence was heard from the rider concerned. In his evidence, W.J. Lee stated that his mount began to move left after entering the straight and the first hit was for corrective purposes to which his mount responded and ran straight from thereon. Having viewed a recording of the race and considered the evidence the Stewards were of the opinion that W.J. Lee was in breach of R10(3)(g) by using his whip with excessive frequency. Having taken his previous record into consideration, the Stewards suspended W.J. Lee for 1 raceday
S.T. McCullagh, rider of Compulsus trained by Richard John O'Brien, reported to the Clerk of Scales that his mount ran very green
W.J. Lee, rider of Corps Des Pages trained by P. Twomey, reported to the Clerk of Scales that his mount hung left in the straight when he went to go by.
