The Stewards interviewed W.P. Mullins, trainer, in relation to the saddling of Mourad, and Upsie (FR), in this race. It appeared that the respective saddles were placed on the incorrect horses. Evidence was heard from the trainer concerned. Having considered the evidence, the Stewards were of the opinion that the trainer was in breach of Rule 148 and having considered his record, cautioned him as to his future responsibilities in this regard. The Turf Club Veterinary Officer examined Mourad, trained by W.P. Mullins, at the request of the Stewards and reported the animal to be post race normal.
