Having been checked by the Veterinary Surgeon, the gelding was deemed fit to race.
Miss Kayleigh Stephens, the rider of Saratoga Gold (GB), had been unseated approximately seven furlongs out.
It was found that the incident was accidental and caused by the stirrup bar on Stephens’ saddle snapping.
Having inspected the saddle post-race, the Stewards were satisfied that the failure could not have been predicted and, therefore, took no further action.
Approximately seven furlongs out, Bollin Margaret (GB), placed dead-heat fourth, locked on and shifted right-handed off the heels of Cardano (USA), unplaced, causing Yorkshire Lady (GB), placed dead-heat fourth, to be briefly tightened for room.
After viewing a recording of the incident it was found that no riding offence was involved and it had not improved the placing of any horse.
Following the race, Miss Brodie Hampson reported that Noble Anthem (IRE), unplaced, hung right- handed.
