An enquiry was held to consider interference approximately 1 furlong out involving Alpine Springs (IRE), unplaced, ridden by Callum Shepherd and Banoffee (IRE), placed eighth, ridden by Tom Queally.
Queally was cautioned for careless riding as he had manouvered his mount right-handed when not sufficiently clear of a weakening Alpine Springs (IRE) which had to be steadied by its rider.
Inside the final furlong, Marta Boy (GB), placed fifth, edged left-handed at the same time that Jaffathegaffa (GB), placed fourth, drifted right-handed, causing the rider of Banoffee (IRE) to check his mount in its run, but after viewing a recording of the incident, it was found that no riding offence was involved and that it had not improved the placing of either Marta Boy (GB) nor Jaffathegaffa (GB).
Following the race, David Probert reported that Arthur's Angel (IRE), placed third, was slowly away, Callum Shepherd reported that Alpine Springs (IRE), unplaced, stopped quickly and Richard Kingscote reported that Emerald Ensign (GB), placed seventh, was denied a clear run.
Charles Bishop reported that Cuban Fox (GB), unplaced, hung badly left-handed; the Veterinary Officer reported that a post- race examination of the gelding, during routine testing, failed to reveal any abnormalities.
