Approximately halfway down the back straight, Affluence (IRE), placed fourth, edged left-handed taking Prerogative (IRE), placed third, marginally off its intended line and causing the rider of Sharp Operator (GB), placed second, to take a check off heels.
After viewing a recording of the incident it was found that no riding offence was involved.
The apparent improvement in form of the winner, Cold Harbour (GB), which had never previously been placed, was considered.
Robyn Brisland was interviewed.
His comments that the gelding had benefitted from the application of a first-time tongue tie, a weak race, and the yard being in better form were noted.
Cold Harbour (GB) was routine tested.
Following the race, Jack Mitchell reported that Stay In The Light (GB), placed eighth, was denied a clear run on several occasions in the home straight, David Probert reported that Feel The Vibes (GB), unplaced, hung right-handed.
Robert Winston reported that Tabla (GB), unplaced, had stopped quickly; the Veterinary Officer reported that a post-race examination of the gelding failed to reveal any abnormalities.
