The Stewards fined Noel Lawlor, trainer, ?350 for lodging a passport in respect of Herbiegoesbananas, in which the vaccinations did not conform with the provisions of Rule 91. The Stewards allowed the horse to run on receipt of the trainer's written assurance that the vaccinations were in order. The Stewards interviewed M.P. Fogarty, rider of Circe's Island, trained by Thomas Gibney, concerning the fact that having pulled up he continued on and crossed the finish line with a number of runners who had completed the course. Evidence was heard from the rider concerned. Having viewed the recording and considered the evidence, the Stewards were of the opinion that the rider was in breach of Rule 215 and cautioned him concerning his future responsibilities to follow the correct pulling up procedures.
