The Stewards received a report from the Irish Horseracing Regulatory Board Starter, Mr. J.R. Banahan, that J.J
Slevin, rider of Eternal Presence and G.P. Brouder, rider of Luz Long failed to obey his instructions. Evidence was heard from the starter and riders concerned. J.J. Slevin stated that he was aware of the new starting procedures but felt that he made every effort to restrain his horse once he broke into a canter. G.P. Brouder stated that his horse was an anxious 3yo and also added that he was aware of the new starting procedures. Having considered the report from Mr. J.R. Banahan and the recording of the start, the Stewards were satisfied that both J.J. Slevin and G.P
Brouder were in breach of Rule 208 and taking their records into account, they suspended both riders for 1 raceday.
