Permission was given for Mungo's Quest (IRE) to wear a red hood to the start.
The winner, Well Prepared (GB), appeared to show improved form compared with its previous run at Bath on 21 May 2021 where the gelding finished eighth of twelve, beaten by 12¾ lengths.
It was noted that Mark Loughnane could offer no explanation for Well Prepared (GB)'s improved form; the gelding was routine tested.
Following the race, Mark Crehan reported that Compass Point (GB), placed seventh, was slowly away, and Tyler Heard reported that Mungo's Quest (IRE), placed second, was briefly denied a clear run half a furlong out.
