North Korea (IRE) sustained slight abrasions on its right fore cannon and pastern en route to the racecourse.
Having been examined by the Veterinary Officer on arrival at the racecourse, the filly was deemed fit to race.
Permission was given for Sister of The Sign (IRE) to go early to post.
Shortly after leaving the stalls, Brother Bentley (GB), placed eighth, lugged left-handed, leaving North Korea (IRE), unplaced, short of room, but after viewing a recording of the incident, it was found that no riding offence was involved and that it had not improved the placing of Brother Bentley (GB).
An enquiry was held to consider interference approaching the first bend when Superseded (IRE), placed fifth, ridden by Josephine Gordon, interfered with Wye Bother (IRE), placed second, ridden by Franny Norton, which in turn interfered with Spring Holly (IRE), unplaced, ridden by Aled Beech.
Being a 7lb claimer, Beech was offered the opportunity to have someone accompany him in the enquiry, but declined.
Gordon was cautioned for careless riding as she had ridden a tight bend, causing interference to Norton which in turn caused Beech to have to take a check.
The winner, Miss Enigma (IRE), appeared to show improved form, compared with its previous run at Kempton Park on 3 April 2019 where the filly finished third of nine, beaten by 8 lengths over 7 furlongs.
Richard Hughes’ representative’s explanation that Miss Enigma (IRE) had benefitted from the drop down in trip to 5 furlongs 21 yards was noted.
Miss Enigma (IRE) was routine tested.
Following the race, Franny Norton reported that Wye Bother (IRE), placed second, hung left-handed down the back straight.
