I liked her run in Cork, she was very unbalanced getting around and then she really came home strong, in another 50 yards she would have been placed. I like the way she finished out her race. I wanted to keep to a mile but when you are in this grade you are getting balloted out and it's so hard. They got a drop of rain here and she needs a little bit of juice in the ground. Hopefully there is another race or two in her. She's down low enough that she could stay in that bracket for another couple of runs. That's my first winner for William Keeling, who is Joe's son. It's important to get a winner for the family. M C Grassick, trainer
Paul W. Flynn, trainer of Pallasmore Lass, reported to the Stewards' Secretaries that his charge cut a wart around the girth area and consequently did not race with the best of action. The IHRB Veterinary Officer confirmed that the girth had rubbed a ventral wart

Adam Caffrey, rider of Singe Anglais, trained by H.D. McGuigan, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount was slowly away from the starting stalls

The Raceday Stewards enquired into an incident about two hundred yards from the finish involving Thunder Canyon, ridden by J. Coen, unplaced, Derrinlaur Spender, ridden by J.A. Powell, unplaced, and Designer Cailin, ridden by J.J.G. Ryan, placed fourth, where it appeared that Thunder Canyon checked when in the gap between Derrinlaur Spender and Designer Cailin. Evidence was heard from the riders concerned. In his evidence, J. Coen stated that his mount was between horses when Derrinlaur Spender moved towards Designer Cailin and he had to check his own mount off the heels of Derrinlaur Spender. J.J.G. Ryan stated that in his opinion his mount maintained a straight racing line when staying on one paced. J.A. Powell stated that his mount was running around when he changed whip hand and the gelding went left but he put his hands back on the reins as quickly as possible to correct the movement. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Raceday Stewards found that J.A. Powell was in breach of Rule 214 in that he had ridden carelessly. Having considered his record in this regard, the Raceday Stewards suspended J.A. Powell for five racedays. Kevin Borthwick accompanied J. Coen at this enquiry
The Raceday Stewards enquired into an incident close to the winning post involving Derrinlaur Spender, ridden by J.A. Powell, unplaced Designer Cailin, ridden by J.J.G. Ryan, placed fourth, Manhattan Dandy, ridden by R
Whearty, placed third, and Sin E Shekells (GB), ridden by S.D. Bowen, placed sixth, where it appeared that Manhattan Dandy drifted towards the running rail from an outside position and Derrinlaur Spender checked
Evidence was heard from the riders concerned. In his evidence, S.D. Bowen stated that his mount was under pressure but maintained a straight racing line without receiving any interference. J.A. Powell stated that he took out of the situation when tiring and getting tight for room. J.J.G. Ryan stated that Sin E Shekells (GB) who was racing on his outer, came across towards his own mount and he put down his whip and tried to check. R. Whearty stated that his mount got lairy when challenging on the outer and began to wander inwards. He added that he tried to correct his mount as he was aware of horses on his inner. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Raceday Stewards found that R. Whearty was in breach of Rule 214 in that he had ridden carelessly. Having considered his record in this regard, the Raceday Stewards suspended R. Whearty for one raceday. Kevin Borthwick accompanied S.D. Bowen at this enquiry
The Raceday Stewards interviewed R. Whearty, rider of Manhattan Dandy, concerning his use of the whip in the latter stages of this race. Evidence was heard from the rider concerned. In his evidence, R. Whearty stated that his mount was lairy and the last hit was for corrective purposes to avoid causing interference to Designer Cailin
Having viewed a recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Raceday Stewards were of the opinion that R. Whearty
