The Starter reported that Royal Prospect (IRE) was unruly in the stalls and withdrawn at 4.
22pm.
Lawrence Mullaney was informed that the gelding could not run until the day after passing a stalls test.
An enquiry was held to consider the placings in this race in the final furlong between the winner, Spanish Mane (IRE), ridden by Rose Dawes, and Voltaic (GB), placed second, ridden by Emma Taff.
The Stewards considered that the interference had not improved the placing of Spanish Mane (IRE) as the mare was always holding Voltaic (GB), and the momentum lost by the interference was less than the winning margin of 1 ¼ lengths.
Dawes was suspended for 2 days for careless riding as she had taken insufficient steps to prevent her mount from drifting right, taking Voltaic (GB) off it’s intended line.
The riders were accompanied by a BHA Jockey Coach.
Sophie Jones, the rider of Fact Or Fable (IRE), placed fourth, had appeared to drop her hands shortly before the winning post.
After being interviewed and shown recordings of the incident, Jones was suspended for 7 days for failing to take all reasonable and permissible measures to obtain the best possible placing on a horse that could have finished third.
Jones was accompanied by a BHA Jockey Coach.
