Permission was given for Thegreatestshowman (GB) to be mounted in the chute and to go early to post.
Amy Murphy was cautioned as Thegreatestshowman (GB) had arrived at the Parade Ring without its declared blinkers, which were then located and fitted to the gelding before going to the start.
As a result of this delay, THEGREATESTHOWMAN did not enter the Parade Ring.
Upon leaving the stalls, Highest Ambition (FR), placed eighth, jumped awkwardly and shifted left- handed at the same time that Hyde Park Barracks (USA), placed seventh, jumped slightly right- handed causing Rose Hip (GB), placed third and Follow Your Heart (IRE), placed fourth, to be badly hampered for a sustained period, but after viewing a recording of the incident, it was found that no riding offence was involved.
An enquiry was held to consider interference shortly after the start involving Highest Ambition (FR), placed eighth, ridden by Luke Morris, Rose Hip (GB), placed third, ridden by David Egan and Giorgio Vasari (IRE), unplaced, ridden by Jamie Gormley.
Gormley was cautioned for careless riding as he permitted his mount to edge left-handed when not fully clear of Highest Ambition (FR), causing Morris to take a precautionary check on his mount.
Egan was interviewed, but found not to have been directly involved in this incident.
An enquiry was held to consider interference approximately 1 furlong out involving Mutabaahy (IRE), placed sixth, ridden by Cam Hardie, Rose Hip (GB), placed third, ridden by David Egan and Shalaa Asker (GB), placed fifth, ridden by Lewis Edmunds.
Egan was cautioned for careless riding as after initially being influenced by Mutabaahy (IRE) lugging right-handed in front of him, he had continued angling his mount right-handed when insufficiently clear of Shalaa Asker (GB), causing Edmunds to briefly steady the gelding to avoid his heels.
Following the race, Daniel Tudhope reported that Eye Of Heaven (GB), unplaced, lost its action; the Veterinary Officer reported that a post-race examination of the gelding found it to be lame on its left-hind.
On 20/10/2021 Michael Wigham reported that Hyde Park Barracks (USA) lost a front shoe in the race.
