The Stewards interviewed K.P. Moriarty, rider of Del's Delight, concerning his use of the whip in this race. Evidence was heard from the rider concerned. Having viewed a recording of the race and considered the evidence the Stewards found K.P. Moriarty in breach of Reg. 10 3.(b) by unnecessarily using his whip when his chance of being placed was clearly gone and having taken his good record into account the Stewards cautioned the rider regarding his future whip use. E.T. Daly, rider of Penelope Pitstop (GB) trained by Lee Smyth, reported to the Clerk of Scales that his mount's saddle slipped and pulled up. K.P. Moriarty, rider of Del's Delight trained by Anthony McCann, reported to the Clerk of Scales that his mount ran flat.
