An enquiry was held to consider the placings in this race after interference approaching the final furlong when Rich Belief (GB), who dead heated for second place, ridden by Jane Elliot interfered with Bravo Faisal (IRE), who also dead heated for second place, ridden by Paul Hanagan.
The Stewards considered that the interference had improved Rich Belief (GB)’s placing as the colt had hung quickly left-handed giving Bravo Faisal (IRE) a bump which became momentarily unbalanced.
The placings were revised as follows: Second: Bravo Faisal (IRE), Third: Rich Belief (GB).
The interference was found to be accidental as Rich Belief (GB) hung quickly left-handed despite the rider’s best efforts to correct the colt.
Inside the final furlong the winner, Gallaside (FR), hung right-handed, briefly intimidating Bravo Faisal (IRE), placed second, at the same time that Hollie Doyle the rider of Gallaside (FR) had accidently struck Paul Hanagan the rider of Bravo Faisal (IRE) on the arm with her whip, but after viewing a recording of the incident, it was found that no riding offence was involved and that it had not improved the placing of Gallaside (FR).
