Permission was given for Giogiobbo (GB) to be mounted on the track and for Moon Trouble (IRE) to go early to post.
Having reviewed the start and after interviewing David Egan, the rider of Zac Brown (IRE), the Stewards were satisfied that the gelding had jinked left-handed after leaving the stalls, unbalancing the rider, causing him to become unseated.
Zac Brown (IRE) was therefore deemed to be a runner.
Leaving the stalls, ERRISIMUS MAXIMUS (FR), unplaced, shifted left-handed away from the loose Zac Brown (IRE), interfering with Giogiobbo (GB), unplaced, which in turn caused Robert Winston, the rider of Rio Ronaldo (IRE), unplaced, to take a check off the heels of the winner, Katheefa (USA), but after viewing a recording of the incident, it was found that no riding offence was involved.
Following the race, Thore Hammer Hansen reported that Tomily (IRE), unplaced, was never travelling and Robert Winston reported that Rio Ronaldo (IRE), unplaced, suffered interference shortly after the start.
The Veterinary Officer reported that the winner, Katheefa (USA) lost its right fore shoe and the gelding was subsequently lame on its right fore.
