They'll come forward from their first to their second runs and to their third. They keep coming forward. She was quick away in Cork and Seamie said to him 'don't be afraid to go forward' because she was quick into her stride. She had the benefit of a run there. We'll keep her to those fillies' races. She'll get further and will get a mile. She is a sister to Flattering so she should stay. A P O'Brien, trainer

R.P. Cleary, rider of Shandredee trained by Peter Maher, reported to the Clerk of Scales that his mount was checked in running
The Stewards enquired into the running and riding of Goddess (USA), ridden by J.A. Heffernan, and trained by A.P.O'Brien. Evidence was heard from the rider and trainer concerned. J.A. Heffernan, stated that his instructions were to settle his mount in mid division, to get her to relax and to do the best he could. He said his he knows his mount very well and she can be a keen type, but settled well despite a slow pace and added that when he went for his race, a gap momentarily opened but was closed quickly and he had no where to go in the closing stages. The Stewards acknowledged that J.A. Heffernan had already reported this as required under the provisions of Rule 213
A.P.O'Brien, confirmed the instructions given. He said he was disappointed that his charge had got no run in the closing stages and felt the rider had done everything possible and felt the slow pace of the race was a contributing factor. The Stewards also received a report from the Irish Horseracing Regulatory Board Veterinary Officer, who reported that Goddess was found to be post race normal. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Stewards noted the explanations offered.
