The winner, Erne River (IRE), appeared to show improved form compared with its previous run at Wetherby on 18 November where the gelding was pulled up.
Nick Kent’s explanation that Erne River (IRE) had benefited from the first-time application of cheekpieces and a return to Doncaster, where the gelding had previously run well, was noted.
