An enquiry was held to consider the placings in this race after interference inside the final furlong when Lady Elysia (GB), placed second, ridden by Georgia Dobie, interfered with Cherry Cola (GB), placed third, ridden by Trevor Whelan.
The Stewards considered that the interference had not improved Lady Elysia (GB)’s placing as the filly always appeared to be holding Cherry Cola (GB) and was going away towards the finish with 1 ½ lengths between them at the line.
Dobie was suspended for 3 days for careless riding as she allowed her mount to hang left-handed without correction causing Whelan to become tight for room on the rail and have to ease his mount in order to switch right to continue his run.
