The Irish Horseracing Regulatory Board Veterinary Officer reported to the Stewards that X' Girl trained by Anthony McCann was reported by the trainer to be in season post race
The Stewards requested a report from Thomas Gibney, trainer, as to the apparent improvement in form of Magic Piper, placed first, as compared with its recent form. Michael Fitzsimons, in the absence of the trainer, reported that their charge never travelled on the very heavy ground on the previous occasion at Limerick where he pulled up when tailed off. Having considered the evidence the Stewards noted the content of the report. Furthermore, the Stewards fined Thomas Gibney €130 for failing to nominate Michael Fitzsimons as his Authorised representative as required by Rule 147(v).
