He got bogged down in the Curragh last week, but he had a couple of good runs before that. It took me a while to learn that he didn't want soft. I ran him in Listowel and it was too soft for him and I still didn't learn, and I went back to the Curragh. He's a nice horse and he is only developing, he's a big raw horse so there is more improvement in him. We are flying it, they are in top order. D. McMonagle, rider of Coviglia, trained by H.D. McGuigan, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount got tight for room on the first bend. The Raceday Stewards reviewed the footage and were satisfied no further action was warranted.
W.J. Lee, rider of Stormie Outlook, trained by E. J. O'Grady, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount received a bump at the horse gate in the straight
The Raceday Stewards enquired into an incident in the home straight involving Stormie Outlook, ridden by W.J
Lee, placed second, and Von Krolock, ridden by M.W Hassett, placed first where it appeared that they made contact. Evidence was heard from the riders concerned. In his evidence, W.J. Lee stated that when Von Krolock headed him he drifted right towards the horse gate and made slight contact with his mount. M.W. Hassett stated that his mount drifted right when he hit the front but he felt that he corrected him. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Raceday Stewards took no further action.
