Permission was given for Ninepointsixthree (GB) to be mounted in the chute; the gelding wore earplugs in the preliminaries which were removed at the start.
Flying Tiger (IRE) wore earplugs throughout the race.
The Starter reported that Ninepointsixthree (GB), had refused to race.
Sam England and the Starter were interviewed and shown recordings of the start.
As Ninepointsixthree (GB) had also refused to race at Newcastle on 06 April 2019 Sam England was informed that any future similar behaviour from the gelding may result in the horse being reported to the Head Office of the British Horseracing Authority.
The Stewards were satisfied that Ninepointsixthree (GB) had refused to race and was deemed to be a runner.
The performance of Robinshill (IRE) which started favourite and finished eighth of twelve runners, was considered.
Nigel Twiston-Davies could offer no explanation for the gelding’s performance.
Robinshill (IRE) was routine tested.
